2014 Cadillac ATS Crimson Sport Edition Revealed

2014 Cadillac ATS Crimson Sport Edition Revealed

The all new Cadillac ATS Coupe may be getting all the attention lately, but the sedan gets some love for 2014 thanks to a new special edition called the Cadillac ATS Crimson Sport. We already think that the Cadillac ATS is a pretty sporty machine, and this new version offers up subtle exterior and interior enhancements that give the ATS a slightly sportier look to complement its exclusive Crimson Red Metallic exterior color.

The Cadillac ATS Crimson Sport Edition is an available upgrade for either the Cadillac ATS 2.0T Performance Collection or the ATS 3.6L Premium Collection. On the outside, the Crimson Sport includes 18-inch dark silver painted wheels, a rear decklid spoiler, and a body kit with a front splitter. Interior upgrades amount to a suede heated steering wheel, a suede-trimmed shift lever, and heated front seats. Buyers can choose between four interior colors: Morello Red, Caramel, Jet Black, or Light Platinum.

Customers can opt for the Crimson Sport Edition with rear- or all-wheel drive and their choice of either Cadillac’s 272-hp 2.0-liter turbo or 321-hp 3.6-liter engine. The Crimson Sport is not available with the six-speed manual transmission that’s available on other 2.0T ATS sedans, though, so a six-speed automatic will be the only transmission choice. The same $695 Track Package that’s available on rear-wheel-drive 3.6L Premium models is an option for the 3.6L Crimson Sport Edition, and includes an external engine oil cooler and performance brake linings.

Cadillac says that this special edition ATS will only be produced during the spring of 2014, with the car going on sale at the end of March. The Cadillac ATS Crimson Sport Edition will command a $2990 price premium over the 2.0T Performance and 3.6L Premium models, with 2.0T models starting at $46,010 and 3.6L models starting at $51,010, both including destination.
