In honor of the 20th anniversary since Christian von Koenigsegg’s decision to start his own supercar brand, the Koenigsegg Agera One:1 will debut at the 2014 Geneva auto show. This latest ultra-performance offering from the Swedish boutique brand, which Koenigsegg had dubbed the world’s first "megacar," boasts an insane one-to-one power-to-weight- ratio.
All of this power comes from an aluminum 5.0-liter V-8 mated to a seven-speed dual-clutch transmission. But power isn’t the full story on the Koenigsegg Agera One:1, so let’s talk about the weight savings. It comes in at over 120 lbs lighter than the Agera S which was shown at last year’s Geneva show, in part thanks to a super-lightweight carbon fiber chassis, a titanium exhaust and turbocharger housing made with a 3D printer, and ventilated memory foam racing seats.
Although Koenigsegg claims that top speed “has not been a priority” since the Agera One:1 is designed to achieve the best track time possible, the company still anticipates the One:1 will be the world’s fastest production car. Top speed is estimated at 273.4 mph, which is well above the current 270 mph unofficial record recently awarded to the Hennessey Venom GT.
The KoenigseggAgera One:1 will debut at the 2014 Geneva auto show, and is apparently already sold out before production has even begun.
