Watch the Koenigsegg active aero in action

The new, top mounted, active rear-wing of the Koenigsegg One:1. Inside Koenigsegg 2, hosted by Christian von Koenigsegg. Shot on location in Angelhom Sweden.

Christian Von Koenigsegg and Drive are back with another installment of “Inside Koenigsegg.” Episode 3 focuses on the One:1's active rear wing.

The wing on the 1,360-hp Koenigsegg One:1 gets a front-top mounted wing, which causes less turbulence compared to rear mounted wing. The total weight is about 20 pounds, which von Koenigsegg claims is about 1/3 of what most active wing systems weigh.

The video demonstrates the wing functions for high-speed and aero braking, which can be adjusted manually or automatically. The giant wing reminds us of some top speed cars, or maybe something suited for the Bonneville Salt Flats. Von Koenigsegg says to him, it makes the car look smaller on the road.

VK also says that he didn't want to differentiate between the active aero and active suspension. Therefore they can both be set up for a tight autocross course or a high speed oval screamer.
